The Concept

One of our US based clients contacted us to supply a board picker – an automatic board magazine and feeder unit. The board picker will be hooked up to the front end of an existing production line. The combined system feeds and delivers corrugated board sheets, that have a ‘cohesive’ paper liner cut and glued accurately in place. They then pass through a traditional box-maker.

The Project

To deliver the first of hopefully many! We were challenged to –

• Provide the total component procurement
• Find a suitable build facility
• Source the labour to assemble and test
• Project manage packing and door to door shipping.

The End Product

‘Smart Karton’ boxes are sold to e-commerce retailers for shipping various goods securely across the States. The bonus of this box is that it takes away the need for void fill. This is a big win on reducing storage. Marketing teams love it too, as it easily promotes brand awareness.
